Take an enchanting 1 hour dog sled ride through the woods and experience a bond between humans and dogs that is thousands of years old. Feel the dogs’ excitement as you pull up to the kennel and are greeted by the team. After an introduction to the dogs and instructions about riding on the sled, you and your guide will be off on a scenic 6 mile sled ride together. If the conditions are right, you’ll have a front row seat to some of the best Denali views in the area! Your guide will stop throughout the ride for photos, and to let you switch positions between standing and sitting on the sled. Your adventure begins with a hands-on introduction to the dogs, where you’ll assist your experienced guide—three-time Iditarod finisher Rohn Buser—in harnessing and prepping the team for the run. Day 2:
Hop on a snowmachine and explore over 250 miles of groomed trails, winding through meadows, frozen swamps, and wide-open backcountry, all while soaking in panoramic views of Denali and the surrounding mountains.

After a warm breakfast, meet back up with your dog team and mush back through the winter wilderness, completing your unforgettable Alaskan adventure.

Classic Dog Sled Tour
This tour is perfect if you want to enjoy Alaska’s snowy woods in daylight. You’ll ride for about 1 hour on a scenic 6-mile trail with beautiful views of the trees and mountains.
Before the ride, your guide will give you a short safety lesson and introduce you to your sled team. You and your group will ride with your own sled and guide. During the ride, your guide may stop for photos and let you switch between sitting and standing on the sled.
If the weather is clear, you may see Denali in the distance. After your ride, you’ll have time to pet and thank the dogs—our four-legged athletes love the attention!
Night Dog Sled Tour
This special tour takes place after sunset, under Alaska’s winter sky. It’s quiet and peaceful, with the moon and stars lighting your way through the forest. If you’re lucky, you might even see the northern lights dancing overhead.
You’ll meet your sled dog team, then ride for about 1 hour through snowy trails. The trail feels magical at night, and the dogs are just as excited as during the day.
Like the Classic Tour, your group will have its own sled and guide. You’ll still share the dog yard and welcome cabin with others, but the sled experience is just for your group.
The whole visit takes about 2 hours. One person in your group must be able to stand on the sled. Please dress in warm layers, and let us know if you need to borrow gear. Children must be at least 2 years old to join.

Requirements
The tour requires a small amount of physical fitness. Please be aware that one person will need to be able to stand and balance on the sled as we travel down the trail. Please dress appropriately in warm clothes. (Alaska tested winter gear is available if needed).

Due to insurance, child age minimum is 2 years old.
Duration
Average tour time is approximately 2 hours total. Though, time varies depending on weather, trail conditions, and how much time you want to spend petting the dogs!
Temperature
Please note Talkeetna is a large area and encompasses more than the few blocks of downtown. Be sure to check how far the kennel is from where you’re staying. Guests are responsible for their own transportation. Some options are provided below.
